Our design team combines an understanding of today’s building techniques with a concern and sensitivity for history.  Our design & consultation team boasts a diverse range of skills including: project management, architectural design and 3-D computer generated modeling using CAD software.

Our organization provides quality architectural design and computer aided drafting services utilizing Cadwork® (design software specifically crafted for timberframing.)   Our portfolio includes detailed structural drawings for permitting and construction purposes, draft assessment diagrams, as well as three-dimensional design concepts and walk-through videos. 

In addition to understanding the physical condition of the structure, including its features and materials, the company maintains the importance of understanding its cultural, historical, and social significance as well. The basis of such knowledge enables the structure to assist the specialists in developing the appropriate preservation approach.  This involves researching and documenting the history of various types of structures, and preparation of assessment reports.  This also includes tax credit assistance at the state and federal levels and assembly of HABS/HAER reports.

FHTC’s support staff continuously works with outside architectural and engineering consultants to guarantee the project reaches its full potential.
