Frick Custom Sawmill
Thurmont, Maryland
Custom Sawn Timbers from Native Species
Our early 20th century Frick saw mill was made in nearby Waynesboro, PA -- just a short drive from its current location.
Originally intended to be driven by steam, it is now powered by a 3.5L Detroit Diesel 3-71 engine and can turn 4, 4.5, and 5 foot saw blades.
While we normally cut oak and poplar boards and timbers up to 24 feet in length, we can extend the saw track and carriage to cut up to 45 feet, and occasionally cut walnut, cherry, hickory, ash, and a wide variety of other local hardwoods.
Our early 20th century sawmill for all eras of historic projects.
