Fitzgerald's Heavy Timber Construction builds new hand finished log cabins, authentic in every detail. We show here (scroll down this page) new log cabins, authentically produced and hand detailed to be indistinguishable from true historic work. Our skilled craftsmen produce hand finished logs and timbers using exactly the same tools and techniques as were used by the original period artisans.
We are also experienced log cabin restoration specialists, addressing the ravages of time and neglect to existing historic log cabins. Emblems of the simple lives that our ancestors lived during the first settlement, log buildings became a symbol of hard times that later generations tried to forget, often literally covering up the logs with clapboards or plaster. This was a good thing for us because these coverings have protected these important historic structures from the elements.
