Fitzgerald's Heavy Timber Construction, Inc., specializes in the restoration and construction of timber frame structures, especially barns, covered bridges, log structures and homes. We are the full service timber framing contractor, furnishing elegant, cost effective building solutions by combining traditional craftsmanship and technical innovation. Using both modern equipment and vintage machinery over a century old, our dedicated timber framers faithfully reproduce the most complex period joinery and hand hewn finishes. We operate our own sawmill so that we can control the quality and availability of the timbers that we use. This comprehensive approach enable us to bring many efficiencies to both the design and the production of the custom post and beam structure.
Fitzgerald's Heavy Timber Construction, Inc., can design your timber frame for you "in house." We have extensive experience working as team members with architects and engineers to see that your project becomes the fulfillment of your dreams. We can provide hand-hewn timbers or finished timbers. At our milling facility we have an American brand plane capable of planing eight-inch by 24-inch material. This four-sided plane is capable of making a paper smooth finish on large structural timbers. Our staff, experience and equipment bring to you the ability to create the "feel" and "ambiance" clients are looking for in their projects. We invite you to see images of some of our traditional timber frame projects:
